Projects we work on generally fall into two specific types:
1. Complete Project Management:
These projects may include any or all of the following services.
- Design Services
- Advice on appliances
- Setting up a temporary kitchen space
- Demolition of your old kitchen
- Purchasing and ordering your cabinets through IKEA®
- Delivery and assembly at our location or yours
- Scheduling all the subcontractors
- Electrical, plumbing, flooring
- Drywall, painting, countertops
- Cabinet and appliance installation
- New windows and doors
- Custom carpentry
Typically, we only take on these types of projects within southeastern Massachusetts,
Cape Cod and the Islands.
2. Assembly and Installation Only:
In this case, the client has made arrangements to prepare the space and handle all the
details. We are only assembling and installing cabinets and perhaps IKEA® countertops.
However, we often assist with design service during these projects also.
Cabinets:
Cabinetry is typically the most expensive part of a kitchen remodeling project. To keep
the costs affordable and still provide a quality product, we use cabinets produced by
IKEA®. These European-style cabinets offer a variety of styles and excellent value.
Kitchen cabinets were tested by a leading consumer magazine in August 2004. The
IKEA® cabinet ranked 4 out of the 14 cabinets tested. It's cost was 1/2 to 1/4 of the cost
of the cabinets rated above it. It also was only $30 more expensive than the lowest
priced cabinet (rank #9). The article stated "The ready-to-assemble Ikea outperformed
much more expensive units, despite its low price. High-quality drawer hardware and
doors and a robust mounting strip helped."
Our kitchen designs will use these cabinets. This benefits you in two ways. The first is
that there is no markup on the cabinet costs. Most retailers mark the cabinets up four
times over their purchase price. The second advantage is that IKEA cabinets come with
a 25-year warranty. We then make arrangements for delivery (typically 2-3 weeks or
less) either to your location or ours. The advantage of delivery to us is that we check for
missing parts or damage. We also can preassemble the cabinets and deliver them to
your kitchen which shortens the disruption to your home. However, there are additional
costs associated with this service. Please contact us for details.
We are Certified IKEA® Installers. This means our business, practices, and procedures
have been vigorously reviewed by IKEA®. There are less than 100 certified IKEA®
Installers in the United States.
License and Insurance:
We are a licensed Massachusetts Construction Supervisor (CS 98967) and a Home
Improvement Contractor (#153124). For insurance, we carry both general liability policy
and workman’s compensation. We can provide you a insurance certificate prior to the
beginning of your project. We also only work with subcontractors that are also licensed
and insured. This is for your protection.
