Lou Ann Burgess – Kitchen Designer and Project Manager
Lou Ann is the kitchen designer and project manager. Having grown up in North Carolina, she has lived in
New Jersey, Wisconsin, Tokyo, and Massachusetts while working for large and small corporations. During
her 20 years in the corporate world, she ran large and complex multidisciplinary projects. This skill is used
extensively in scheduling home improvement projects and keeping the project time-line as short as
possible. Her passion for cooking naturally led to a passion for kitchens. She believes the kitchen is the
heart of home and should be celebrated as such. The kitchen needs to function for everyone in the home
and have the flexibility from simple cooking to family meals to elaborate entertaining.

Rich Carl – Kitchen Installer and On-site Coordinator
Rich has spent 20 years in the technology corporate world in marketing and sales after getting a Ph.D in
chemistry from Dartmouth College. While his day job was sales of scientific instruments, evenings and
weekends were filled with home improvement projects including installing IKEA® kitchens. Having grown
up in Massachusetts with Yankee values, he appreciates the bargains that IKEA® offers. Rich is
meticulously neat, prompt, and organized. Rich has years of hands-on experience, but is always staying
current with new ways to tackle a project. He is very comfortable with embracing new ideas and technology.
A true jack of all trades, he is as comfortable designing a web site as installing a kitchen.

Rich and Lou Ann, the Couple
Rich and Lou Ann have been married 17 years and have two children. Having traveled around the world and
made several corporate relocations, they made their final "relocation" in 2002 when they chose Cape Cod as
the place they wanted to live and raise a family. Rich and Lou Ann work well together, having complimentary
strengths that they bring to their marriage and to the home projects they run.
Lou Ann enjoys pottery and has a studio at her home. She also is very active in the Falmouth Public School
system.
Rich coaches his children in team sports year round. He is passionate about fishing. He is still working on
the "catching" part but has the "fishing" part down pat!
